October is Child Safety Month, and with that the Asian Arts Center was asked to demonstrate some self-defense techniques at the Hope United Methodist Church’s Trunk or Treat this past Sunday. While showing the practical defense moves, the demo team looked strong representing the Asian Arts Center with effective forms of self-defense. Not only did the demo team show the Trunk or Treaters the self-defense techniques, but they were able show off some of their own Taegeuk forms, Hyper Pro forms, and some impressive kicks as well. We were able to pass along the Asian Arts Center’s mission of strengthening body and mind, teaching practical self defense, and building character. The students from the Asian Arts Center who were part of our demonstration team truly embodied our mission and gave some practical self-defense tips to help keep kids safe. A big thank you to all of our demo volunteers who helped make this event a success!
