Kickboxing Classes at the Asian Arts Center!

Wikipedia defines Kickboxing as “a group of martial arts and stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching”. At the Asian Arts Center Taekwondo School, it is more than that!
Carolyn Zengel, author of the book Immediate, Direct, Explosive: Basic Self-Defense For Women and Girls leads many fitness classes at the AAC, three of which revolve around kickboxing. These workouts include punching and kicking the soft kick bags, as well as other off-bags exercises, and are the perfect complement to your cardio routine. Gloves are always available for your use during class, too!
“A 125-lb. person burns an average of 600 calories in an hour of kickboxing, according to Harvard Health Publications. In the same amount of time, someone who weighs 155 lbs. can burn 744 calories kickboxing, and a 185-lb. person burns 888 calories. Calorie burn can also depend on the level of intensity and the overall fitness level of the participant.” (Information gathered from: http://www.livestrong.com)
Carolyn’s classes are held at our Kettering school. She offers some form of fitness training Monday through Saturday, with a variety of classes in both the morning and evening.
