The History of Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a form of martial arts that has been passed down for thousands of years from the Ancient Koreans and has become one of the most popular forms of martial arts. With its rich history and world wide participation, it was introduced in to the Olympic games in 1984.   According to the World Federation of Taekwondo,   “is a discipline that shows ways of enhancing our spiritual life through training our body and mind.”  The Asian Arts Center, like the Ancient Koreans, uses martial arts to teach more than just kicking and punching,  but rather strengthen body and mind. Our mission statement at the Asian Arts Center is to strengthen body and mind, teach practical self defense, and build character all in which maintain the idea that Taekwondo a lifestyle. At the Asian Arts Center we use martial arts as a teaching tool to improve focus, disciple, and promote behavior change among our students.
